When do we collect information from you?
We obtain information from you when you make a donation, buy through our online shop, sign up for our Newsletter or when you adopt one of our horses. We would also obtain information if you re-home one of our horses, apply for a job or volunteer position with us.
What type of Information is collected?
The personal information we collect may include your name, address, telephone number, Email address and bank account details. If you make a donation or purchase a product from us your card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third-party payment processors (currently, but not limited to PayPal, Stripe, XXX) who securely capture and process your online credit/debit card transactions.
How is your information used?
- • Process and collect a one-off or ongoing donation you have made;
- • Process an order you have submitted;
- • Send you communications you have requested that may be of interest to you
- • Progress the re-homing of one of our animals
- • Process a job application
- • Hold details on file for our volunteers (including emergency contacts)
- • To carry out legal or regulatory requirements with regards to our operation as an Animal Sanctuary
How do we store your information?
We will always take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to ensure your personal information is stored and treated securely to prevent loss, misuse or alteration.
All electronic financial transactions entered into through our website are protected by third party payment processors (XXXX PayPal or JustGiving), who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions and/or Direct Debit management. Personal information that you submit over the internet, such as your email address, is inherently insecure, so, although we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot 100% guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
How long to we keep your information?
We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis. We are legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations (for example the collection of Gift Aid or whilst you are re-homing one of our equines). We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant purposes, or as long as is set out in any relevant contract you hold with us.
How can you access and update your information?
The accuracy of your personal information is important to us. Please contact us if your information changes. This is particularly important if you have previously completed a Gift Aid declaration with us. You also have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.

Our website may include links to other websites and there may be other websites that link to ours. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the privacy policies and practices of any such sites.
